Disney’s CEO says the company “lost a little focus” by prioritising the “quantity” of its production, as it sought to keep its streaming platform stocked with content.

Speaking during The Walt Disney Company’s second quarter and first half results today (7 May), CEO Bob Iger said that, particularly on the Marvel content slate, the company’s haste to push out new content for Disney+ had resulted in some lost focus.

“We all know that in our zeal to flood our streaming platform with more content, we turn to all of our creative engines, including Marvel, and have them produce a lot more,” he said.
