The apocalyptic day has come to pass for the children and young people of Australia, as the country’s long-mooted and much-discussed social media ban for anyone under the age of 16 has finally come into effect.

From today (10 December), a whole host of social media platforms are now banned in the country, with accounts set to be suspended until children hit the required age.
